Context: Framing the Hawai‘i Data Landscape

We believe data is a key factor in addressing Hawai‘i’s most pressing challenges – now and in the future.

Timely, quality, accessible data builds bridges of understanding and makes coordinated, effective action possible. In order to address Hawaiʻi’s biggest issues – like housing, economy, health, and education – we’ll need to de-silo information and take a holistic, collaborative, data-guided approach.

But systemic roadblocks can’t be addressed overnight.

It takes time to build a data culture that normalizes sharing of information across government, private sector, non-profit organizations, and communities. Hawai‘i Data Collaborative is committed to working toward that future now. By listening to and collaborating with local stakeholders and decision makers, we are identifying our community’s questions and needs to develop data-driven solutions.
